2.4  Source   This material was accumulated by Lester Nurick during his tenure at the World Bank.  He took the files with him when he retired, and subsequently donated them to the World Bank Group Archives.

3.1 Scope and content The files consist of correspondence, reports, legal memoranda, briefs, and printed items.  The topics of the files reflect issues of personal interest to Nurick or issues which he handled on behalf of his clients. 

Many topics relate to the World Bank as an institution, such as the Bank’s Articles of Agreement, the Bretton Woods Agreement, sovereign immunity, the International Finance Corporation, immunities and powers of the Bank, and Bank membership issues involving China, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and Iran.  Also included are files relating to bond issues and finance, taxation, cofinancing, and securities and investment.  Some files relate to litigation, such as a Federal Communications Commission case and a case involving university tuition payments.  Files on specific World Bank lending projects include large files on Volta River power projects in Ghana, including photographs, and files on the Shashe project in Botswana, the Falconbridge ferronickel project in the Dominican Republic, and the Boke project in Guinea.   Further files deal with personnel issues, such as staff rights and obligations, garnishment, and staff compensation.

4.1 Conditions of access Papers are subject to conditions in the donor’s instrument of gift and to the World Bank Policy on the Disclosure of Information.

4.2 Conditions of reproduction  Copyright in the papers is donated to the World Bank and the papers are subject to the World Bank Policy on Copyright.
