The World Bank Community Outreach Program has partnered with several local community based organizations over the last several years. One important purpose of entering into partnerships with local community organizations in the metropolitan Washington area is to gain knowledge and experience from those organizations on local research and data regarding education, economic development, health and employment in order to promote community based sustainable development in the region. In addition, the Community Outreach Program has developed these partnerships in order to better share Bank information, knowledge, and resources with those local organizations that foster economic and social development in accordance with the Bank's overall mission of poverty reduction. Our goal is to help expand and integrate, through key partnerships, the knowledge and resources available to the local community.
