$200,000 Urban Institute (East of the River Initiative*)                    Capacity building initiative for education and your services nonprofits serving Wards 6, 7 and 8 in the District that seeks to enable them to better identify, measure, and communicate the effectiveness of their community-based interventions.  Includes support for the four participating nonprofits to hire a full time evaluation specialist.   $50,000  Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington Support of the East of the River Initiative (ie., data collection, advisory, document production).  $25,000 Communities In School of the Nation’s Capital                                       Improving test scores and preparing students for college.  Facilitating Leadership in Youth (FLY)                                                            To re-design and furnish a program space in present facility.  Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC                          Recruits youth to educate and engage other teens.            $21,600  Urban Alliance Support of efforts to create a supportive and sustainable community for DC high school youth.   $10,000  Men Can Stop Rape                                                                               To support young men in building safe, respectable relationships and grow into nonviolent, equitable men of strength.   * Year one of this three year initiative.
