| Grants Awarded by the Community Outreach Program Fiscal Year: July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009 $100,000 Latin American Youth Center (LAYC)                    Enables LAYC to contract nationally known evaluators to conduct a multi-year evaluation of its Promotores Pathways Program. $87,929 Urban Institute (East of the River Initiative*)                    Capacity building initiative for education and your services nonprofits serving Wards 6, 7 and 8 in the District that seeks to enable them to better identify, measure, and communicate the effectiveness of their community-based interventions.  Includes support for the four participating nonprofits to hire a full time evaluation specialist.  $50,000  Collaborative for Education Organizing and Partnership for Equity                   General support for this new partnership.  Washington AIDS Partnership Support efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS through strategic grant making, public policy initiatives, technical assistance, and investment in youth.  $30,000  Community Development Support Collaborative Support of housing preservation efforts.  The Taproot Foundation Support of operating costs for the Service Grants Program.  $25,000  Center for Nonprofit Advancement Support for the implementation of a shared back office support program (BOB) for nonprofits located in the Greater Washington region.  Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers Support for Beyond Dollars Initiative.  $20,000  DC Education Compact General operating support.  $14,500  Life Pieces to Masterpieces General operating support in connection with move of offices to the Merritt school.  $11,000  Leadership Greater Washington General support; Support for Youth Leadership Greater Washington.  $10,052  Rebuilding Together DC Support for World Bank staff in the rebuilding of homes in SE Washington.   * Year three of this three year initiative.
