Community Outreach

 Making a World of Difference

IFC Volunteer PhotoAs the third largest employer in Washington, D.C., the World Bank Group recognizes the need for individual and corporate responsibility where we live and work. The Community Outreach Program faces a rapidly changing Metropolitan Washington Area which demands greater agility, flexibility, capacity to anticipate and respond to community needs, balancing nonprofit and community priorities, and increased focus on efficiency and results by customizing and tailoring services for increasingly diversified communities. In this context, the overarching objective of the community outreach program is to be a strategic partner and community driven service program that helps position the World Bank as the development partner of choice in the Metropolitan Washington Area. Our mission is to help and support the community, primarily through the nonprofit sector, in improving people’s lives in a sustainable way in the Metropolitan Washington Area.
