The World Bank Group is committed to fight poverty, and to promote inclusive and sustainable growth. To effectively respond to the priority needs of its partner countries, the World Bank Group is mobilizing world-wide competences and resources for the design, formulation, appraisal, implementation, supervision and evaluation of assistance operations and investments.

Every year, the World Bank Group commits, in developing and transition countries, about 35 billion USD in loans, grants, equities, structured finance, trade finance, risk management products or political risk guarantees. Most of these operations provide concrete business opportunities for interested companies, academic centers or consultants. The competitive procurement is ruled by clear guidelines and is administered either by the borrowing country or directly by the World Bank Group.

More could be done by the private sector in our Constituency Countries to access such opportunities in construction works, supply of goods or services, and consultancies. We hope this website page will guide interested enterprises or consultants in better understanding the “what and how” in doing business with the World Bank Group, and will hopefully translate into more procurements and mandates.
