Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR)
The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), established in 1971, is an informal association composed of public and private sector Members from North and South, within FAO, IBRD, IFAD and the UNDP as cosponsors. The CGIAR is committed to mobilizing sustainable development of agriculture by providing international agricultural research centers with financial assistance and strategic guidance.
The CGIAR is the World Bankís first innovative finance trust fund program. The Bank has played a pivotal role in CGIAR governance and financial stability by providing exceptional strategic guidance, support and funding. CFPMI manages the donor contribution management, including the receipt of funds, the sound investment of its resources and the disbursement of funds of CGIAR centers. CFPMI provides standard updates and reports and the capacity building to CGIAR on the process re-engineering.
