Community Development Foundations: Emerging Partnerships

This study has been funded by The Ford Foundation and was first printed in November 2000. It is a free publication. The study is a product of responses to a questionnaire, intersting discussions, and information gathered from a range of publications and annual reports between 1998 and 2000.

Community Development Foundations (CFs) are the main focus of the study. The report examines the emerging picture of these local institutions that exist solely to support the civil society sector by building their operational and financial capacity. The report also assesses the role of these institutions in community-based and community-led development and the possible role of partnership between donor agencies and other stakeholders working on community development and poverty reduction.
