| The primary responsibility for managing the lending program rests with the regions. Within each region, the country units have the primary responsibility for managing the overall World Bank dialogue with the country. The sector units specific to the region manages the lending program as well as related non-lending activities. The country's relationship with the World Bank and the volume and scope of the future lending program is summarized in a document called the Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) document. The CAS document, prepared in consultation with authorities, by the country unit, with the assistance of the sector units. The CAS document, in general, is written every three to four years.
