The Commissioners met in London December 10-11, 2007 in order to discuss the Growth Commission's work and its findings face to face with a broader audience and to gather feedback from the discussion. The meetings were hosted by the Department for International Development (DFID), UK, which is one of the sponsors of the Commission, and the HM Treasury. On December 10, the Commission met with representatives of European bilateral and multilateral agencies. The session was opened by Baroness Shriti Vadera, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State of DFID. Mike Spence, Growth Commission Chair, made a presentation of the Commission's work, and Danny Leipziger, Growth Commission Vice-Chair, moderated the session. On Tuesday, December 11, the Commission held a consultation meeting with representatives from European NGOs, think tanks, private sector companies and academics. At this meeting, Mike Spence presented the Commission's preliminary findings, and the discussion was moderated by Stephanie Flanders, BBC Newsnight.
