Calls for Proposals

The Trust Fund for Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Development (TFESSD) provides grant resources for activities aimed at mainstreaming the environmental, social and poverty-reducing dimensions of sustainable development into overall Bank work. Calls for Proposals are generally issued once a year. Different priority areas are chosen each year. TFESSD is Bank-executed and proposals can only be submitted by, and task managed by, World Bank staff. Countries in the three bottom categories of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Development Assistance Committee (DAC), and List of Aid Recipients are eligible, with 50 percent going to Africa .

Prioritization of proposals and continuous monitoring of the fund is done by the Environment, Social Development, Poverty Reduction, and Social Protection Boards.

If you have questions about the process or would like to discuss your initial ideas for proposals, please contact your Window Manager.
