Education and Outreach

The Education and Outreach programs of the World Bank Art Program open the doors for Bank staff and external visitors to a world of creative expressions, composed of more than 5,000 artworks by artists from more than 180 countries.  The collection is focused on contemporary emerging artists from developing and middle income client countries, often at the forefront of national and international social and cultural debates.

Contemporary art transcends national borders and the Bank collection is the perfect cultural ambassador of a variety of visual expressions, such as painting, sculpture, drawing, prints and textiles, folk art, photography, design, and video art that reflects and explores the artistic and social issues of our times.

Our Education and Outreach programs promote creative thinking and foster art appreciation through a variety of guided tours, public panels, e-catalogues, a searchable collection database, and workshops with international artists.

For a calendar of scheduled programs, visit the Education and Outreach Calendar. The calendar for June is now available. Internal or external audiences can inquire about tailored tours focused around a region or a theme to artprogram@worldbank.org at least a month prior to the preferred date. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

To register for an event, please send an email to artprogram@worldbank.org or call 202-458-0333 with the Last Name, First Name and Affiliation for each participant at least three days in advance.

Art encourages critical thinking, visual literacy and creative expression. Join us in this exciting learning adventure!
