The presence of the EU institutions and other global bodies in Brussels has led to the establishment and development of a wide range of EU wide and international civil society groups. Many of these are umbrella advocacy organizations representing CSOs from across Europe and beyond.
The World Bank Group thus sees Brussels as a key point for interaction with CSO and engages mainly through:
Dialogue and exchange of information with NGOs, academic institutions, trade unions, foundations, youth groups and migrant community organizations on development objectives and challenges, as well as on advocacy and campaign actions of mutual interest.
Formal consultations on forthcoming World Bank draft strategies that bring multi-stakeholder groups together with Bank policy experts with a view to strengthening and improving World Bank policies and research findings.
