Slovenia is located in South-Eastern Europe, bordering with Austria, Italy, Croatia and Hungary. Before 1991, Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia. In May 2004 Slovenia acceded to the European Union and NATO. Its population is close to 2 million inhabitants.
The capital city of Slovenia is Ljubljana - accessible by air from most European cities within approx. 2 hours.

In January 2007 Slovenia adopted the euro.
