The Annual Bank Conference on Development E conomics (ABCDE) 2007 took place in Bled, Slovenia, on May 17-18, 2007. The conference was co-organized by the World Bank and the Government of Slovenia.
The conference had as the overarching topic 'Private Sector and Development' and it featured research papers on the following sub-topics, as well as working sessions:
1. Financial Inclusion
2.The business climate
3. The provision of public services by non-state actors: health, education, environment/water.
The conference also featured parallel sessions (workshops/ roundtables) related to the overarching theme of the conference and other issues relevant for international development.

ABCDE 2008 will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, in June 2008.
