About the Conference

The overall theme of this year's ABCDE conference was Beyond Transition.  It addressed the following topics:

• Growth After Transition, Is rising Inequality Inevitable?
• Economic Space
• Governance and
• Judiciary Foundations of a Market System.

Eminent scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world presented new research findings and discussed key policy issues related to development at the conference

Once again ABCDE is becoming more regional and this year the change in locale reflects the growing importance of research around the world and the desire to bring such conferences closer to participants in other countries.
