The South Asia Impact Evaluation Initiative of DIME (SAIE) is a program created in collaboration with the South Asia Region. This initiative:
- Coordinates rigorous impact evaluations of World Bank projects and country programs in the South Asia region.
- Provides technical assistance to task teams and government agencies to design and implement impact evaluations through the entire project cycle.
- Supports capacity building for implementing agencies and policy makers for results-based policy making.
There are two main groups of ongoing impact evaluations in the South Asia region. The first group is focused on Community Driven Development and Livelihood programs. In this group, DIME has six impact evaluations – in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka - currently in preparation or in progress. In the second group, which is focused on fragility, an evaluation of Afghanistan's Rural Enterprise Development is in progress.
