Who We Are

Meet the LSMS-ISA Team

The LSMS-ISA project is led by the Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) team, which was established in 1980 by the Development Research Group of the World Bank in order to explore ways of improving the type and quality of household data collected by statistical offices in developing countries. The LSMS team brings its broad-ranging field experience, rigorous analytical capacity, innovative methodological research and institutional knowledge to all aspects of its work on the ongoing LSMS-ISA project. The team is guided both technically and strategically by its steering committee, its technical advisory board and its institutional partnerships, as well as by local technical working groups established on the ground in each LSMS-ISA partner country.

The board also provides technical reviews of methodological studies and research conducted under the LSMS-ISA project. The TAB meets at least once a year, and is composed of the following:

Technical Working Groups

The LSMS-ISA Technical Working Groups contribute to the survey design and promote analytical work in each LSMS-ISA country. For each country, the Technical Working Group is composed of a LSMS team member, the LSMS-ISA country Resident Adviser, one or more researchers from the World Bank's Development Research Group, a staff member from the implementing agency in the country, representatives of relevant line ministries, members of the local research and academic communities, representatives of any sub-grantee institutions, and other key stakeholders.
