Mali
The LSMS-ISA team is working with the Mali National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) and Ministry of Agriculture (CPS) to implement an integrated panel household survey with modules on agriculture, livestock and fisheries, using decentralized data entry. Methodological validation exercises will also be conducted.
Niger
The LSMS-ISA team is working with the Niger National Institute of Statistics (INS) to implement the Enquête Nationale sur les Conditions de vie des Menages et Agriculture (National Survey Of Household Living Conditions and Agriculture). The 1st wave of fieldwork will be complete in December 2011.
Nigeria
The LSMS-ISA team is working with the Nigeria National Bureau of Statistics to implement the General Household Survey-Panel, containing newly designed modules on agriculture and consumption. Wave 1 incorporated CAPI technology and was completed in March 2011; the 2nd wave is scheduled for 2012-2013.
Ethiopia
The LSMS-ISA team is working with the Ethiopia Central Statistics Agency to implement the Ethiopia Rural Socio-economic Survey, a panel household survey collecting integrated data from rural areas. The 1st wave will begin in September 2011 and will incorporate both CAPI technology and field-based data entry.
Uganda
The LSMS-ISA team is working with the Uganda Bureau of Statistics to implement the Uganda National Panel Survey, redesigned to include an agriculture module and GPS plot measurement, as well as validation exercises for crop production. Wave 2 transitioned from field-based data entry to CAPI technology.
Tanzania
The LSMS-ISA team is working with the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics to implement the Tanzania National Panel Survey, with an expanded agricultural focus, GPS plot measurement, tracking, and field-based data entry. Wave 1 data was released in November 2010; fieldwork for Wave 2 will be completed by December 2011.
Malawi
The LSMS-ISA team is working with the Malawi National Statistics Office to implement the Malawi Third Integrated Household Survey, a panel household survey with expanded agricultural focus, implemented using field-based data entry. The 1st wave was completed in March 2011; Wave 2 is planned for 2013.
