A conference on Entrepreneurship and Growth, jointly with the World Bank Group's Investment Climate Advisory Services, and the Kauffman Foundation, is planned for November 19-20, 2009. The agenda is posted on the conference website. 

 

A conference on The International Financial Crisis: Have the Rules of Finance Changed?, co-sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the World Bank, took place on September 24, 2009 to September 25, 2009 to examine the recent global financial upheaval, whether financial principles seem to have shifted in recent years, and what that may mean for international financial markets and regulation.

A conference on Managing Systemic Crises and Redesigning Financial Systems was held on May 26, 2009.  Jointly sponsored by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the conference explored issues of regulatory reform and corporate and financial restructuring in the wake of financial crises.

A conference on Measurement, Promotion, and Impact of Access to Financial Services was held in Washington, DC in March 2009.

Conference on Risk Analysis and Management  A conference on risk analysis and management, jointly with the IMF, was held on October 2-3, 2008. Also a special issue of the Journal of Banking and Finance Volume 33, Issue 11, Pages 1949-2174 (November 2009) was published on the same topic.

Conference on Small Business Finance - What Works, What Doesn't? This conference, jointly sponsored by DECRG-FP and FPD, was held on May 5 and 6, 2008, at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington DC.

A conference on Partial Credit Guarantee Schemes – Experiences and Lessons, jointly sponsored with the Journal of Financial Stability and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute was held in Washington, DC on March 13 and 14, 2008.

On October 26, 2007 a half-day seminar was held to discuss Measuring Bank Regulation and Supervision; strengths and shortcomings of this data, its analysis, and the resulting policy implication.

Conference on Access to Finance  A joint conference with the World Bank Economic Review was held on March 15 and 16, 2007 in Washington, DC.
