JEAN-LOUIS RACINE is a science, technology and innovation specialist in the Europe and Central Asia region for the World Bank. At the World Bank, his work focuses on policies and programs to support technology diffusion and innovation. Prior to his current position, he worked in a private consulting practice where he advised regional governments and businesses on technology-based competitiveness strategies. Jean-Louis Racine’s practical experience in product design and innovation spans a wide range of sectors, having worked as an engineer in traditional sectors, such as rural micro-hydropower and hydraulic systems, as well as in cutting-edge sectors, such as medical devices, aerospace and robotics. Jean-Louis Racine holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Management of Technology Certificate from the University of California at Berkeley, an MIA in Technology Policy for Economic Development from Columbia University and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
