World Development Report 2010
RICARDO FUENTES NIEVA joined the World Development Report team and the World Bank on Special Leave from the Human Development Report Office of UNDP, where he co-authored the Human Development Report 2007/2008 on climate change as well as three other global HDRs. Prior to joining UNDP, he was Director of Statistical Analysis and advisor to the Under Secretary of Social Development in Mexico. From 1999 to 2001 he was a researcher in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC. He has published several articles and chapters in books on social security, social policy, regional development, income poverty and inequality. He graduated with honours from CIDE in Mexico City and holds a MSc in economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain.
