Latin America and Caribbean Internship ProgramsWorld Bank Afro-Latin and Indigenous Summer Internship ProgramUnder the umbrella of the World Bank Summer Internship Program, the Latin American and Caribbean Region (LCR) of the World Bank offers up to three month internships located in the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The LCR program targets young, talented graduate students from Latin America or the Caribbean, who are of African or indigenous descent. The applicants for the LCR program must be of African descent or from the indigenous community in one of the Latin American or Caribbean Countries. The LCR program provides an opportunity for interns to acquire and enhance their knowledge and skills in an international setting, and for LCR to be enriched by the interns' unique inputs and perspectives. South Asia Internship ProgramsWorld Bank South Asia Region Young Adults Internship ProgramUnder the umbrella of the World Bank Summer Internship Program, the South Asia Region (SAR) of the World Bank offers up to 10 week summer internships (6 week winter internships) located in the US and South Asia Region (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal). The SAR Young Adults program targets young (age 29 or younger), talented graduate students currently enrolled full time in a graduate degree program (returning to the program upon completion of the internship). Applicants for the SAR program must be nationals of a South Asian Country and expect to fund their own housing and subsistence (e.g., live with family/friends during summer/winter school break). The SAR Young Adult Intern Program Employing provides an opportunity to build skills, augment research, gain further exposure and involvement in South Asia national and regional development priorities, and obtain experience working in an international development environment, and for SAR to be enriched by interns' unique inputs and perspectives. As a result interns are empowered with a richer global understanding and potential for greater participation in the region's future. Internship Program in Moscow Office
The World Bank is announcing an Internship Program in its Moscow Office to provide an opportunity for selected candidates to build practical skills and augment research in respective fields; develop experience working in an international organization; gain exposure to the international development effort; and deepen the understanding of Russia’s development priorities and challenges. This, in turn, would enrich the World Bank with interns’ unique inputs and perspectives. The internship at the Bank’s Moscow Office promises to be an interesting and rewarding opportunity for career and personal development! To be eligible for the internship Program, candidates must be enrolled in a full time graduate program (pursuing a Master’s program or Ph.D. with plans to return to school in full-time capacity). The Program would be offered for the period of 1 to 3 months. The selected candidates will be paid salary applicable to interns based on the existing scale. The selected candidates would be engaged in development and implementation of the World Bank activities in one of the priority areas of the World Bank in Russia, which are improving the business environment and enhancing competition; strengthening public sector management; mitigating social and environmental risks; and assistance with country’s global engagements, such as Kyoto Protocol, accession to the WTO, and G8. Thus, the candidates are sought amongst top students of the leading Universities in the fields of economics, finance, human development (health and education), agriculture, environment, and private sector development. Fluency in English is required. Prior work experience is advantageous.
