Junior Professionals Program for Afro-Descendants

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.  THE PROGRAM WILL REOPEN IN A FEW MONTHS.

The Junior Professionals Program for Afro-Descendants (JPPAD) provides young and motivated Black individuals with practical, on-the-job experience and training in a global development environment, while giving the Bank an opportunity to benefit from the knowledge, talent and diversity that they can bring to the institution. In addition, the program contributes to capacity development efforts in the candidates' respective home countries, as some of the graduates choose to return at the end of the two years to contribute economic development.

What are we looking for?

The World Bank seeks talented young Black individuals who can help contribute to alleviating poverty and to improving people's lives by promoting economic and social progress in developing countries. To enhance its mission to reduce poverty, the Bank is committed to promoting diversity, to hiring the best candidates and fostering an inclusive environment that makes the most of their ideas and energies.

Salaries and benefits are in accordance with the Bank Group policies. The contract is non-renewable; however, candidates may compete for other appointments upon completion of their two-year term.
