The World Bank is committed to supporting staff in balancing their work and life needs by offering a variety of advisory programs. It is the goal of the Bank to ensure that staff and their families are provided the resources and tools to enable them to become productive members of The World Bank Group.
Global Mobility and Work Life Programs helps staff and families transition to Washington DC, by offering advice on area housing, schooling, child-care, spouse career, and elder care options. As the Bank further decentralizes, these same services are being created in countries around the world. At this time, many of these services are offered in Sub-Saharan Africa. Other programs offered to staff include flexible work arrangement such as telecommuting, alternate and reduced work schedules, flextime, job sharing, etc. Advisory services include work-life effectiveness and work-life balance.
The Bank also offers travel health, clinical, and ergonomics support services. Health promotion, personal & work stress programs, as well as other health related facilities and services are available on the premises.
