WASHINGTON, September 30, 2008- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:  IDA Credit: US$50 million equivalent TERMS: Maturity = 35-40 years; Grace = 10years Project Description: As part of a global polio eradication effort, the additional financing will continue assist the Government of Nigeria in its efforts to eradicate Poliomyelitis through the provision of oral polio vaccine (OPV). The ongoing Partnership for Polio Project has three components: (a) The procurement of OPV; (b) Supplemental operations including cold chain, social mobilization, and training; and (c) Surveillance.
