WLC

The inaugural World Leadership Conference (WLC) is a landmark 5 day international conference gathering youth from all over the world to engage in meaningful discussions on the ethos of leadership, and the central tenets of how the world works through predominant current affairs involving the environment and the economy.

This biennial international conference will be held from 15th June to 19th June, 2009, in Singapore. The theme for this year is “Environment and Economics: Towards a Low Carbon Economy”, and will be focusing on current issues related to this theme as well as the possible solutions to the problems in these issues.

The WLC hopes to encourage participants to re-examine their existing notions of leadership, share these ideas with others and at the same time address the issues of the environment and the economy. All these are important ingredients in molding the leaders of tomorrow.

There will be many exciting activities lined up for WLC 2009:

  • plenary sessions by distinguished speakers
  • visits to key governmental agencies
  • parallel sessions by experts in specific topics, and
  • networking sessions where our future leaders will get a chance to interact with each other

WLC 2009 is organized by the Environmental Challenge Organization (Singapore), and supported by the World Bank Singapore Office.

This would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most youth leaders and registration is now open. If you have a passion for the environment and economy, more details, including topics to be discussed, and registration and sponsorship details can be found at www.worldleadershipconference.org.
