WASHINGTON, October 20, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:  Argentina: PTUMA – Metropolitan Areas Urban Transport Project  IBRD Loan: US$150 million Terms: Maturity = 30 years; Grace Period = 5 years Project ID: P095485  Project Description: The objective of the Metropolitan Areas Urban Transport Project in Argentina is to improve the quality and sustainability of urban transport systems in Argentine metropolitan areas. By the creation of a Metropolitan Transport Agency (MTA) for the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, the capacity for transportation planning and management at the metropolitan level will be strengthened.
