Target Audience: Country teams working on trade policy
Summary: This day-long course will train participants to use World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS) to retrieve and analyze information from the major international sources of data on merchandise trade flows, import tariffs, and non-tariff measures. Through hands-on instruction, participants will learn to:
- identify countries' major exports, imports and trade partners
- identify customs duties and other trade policy measures applied to trade flows
- develop queries using customized country groups, product groups, and time frames
- profile countries' import tariff schedules and market access barriers facing their exportsÂ
WITS is free software developed by the World Bank and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Providing access to the most important sources of trade and protection data through a single, easy-to use interface, WITS is an indispensable tool for Bank staff, government counterparts, and other trade analysts.
