Uzbekistan - Assessment of the primary health care reform : transparency, accountability, and efficiency - (May 2009) The main purpose of this report is to assess the degree to which progress has been made by the Government of Uzbekistan in increasing the transparency, accountability, and efficiency of its primary health services, and to identify what further steps could be taken to improve the effectiveness of delivery, some of which may be applicable to other sectors as well.
Paying Taxes 2008 - (Feb. 2008) According to a new report Paying Taxes 2008 published by the World Bank, IFC, and PricewaterhouseCoopers Uzbekistan is among reformers which made it easier to pay taxes in 2006/2007.

This Technical Note provides recommendations for improving prospects for development of the microfinance market under stable yet competitive conditions.
Cotton Taxation in Uzbekistan (Opportunities for Reform) - (Aug. 2005) The study argues that the current tax structure has perverse incentives which cause inefficiencies and cotton production could be increased at no cost to the budget if input subsidies and output taxes were reduced by equivalent amounts. The study presents a reform proposal which is fiscally neutral and would create a net welfare gain to Uzbekistan.
Public Expediture Review - (Mar. 2005) This Public Expenditure Review is Uzbekistan' s first one, prepared as part of the World Bank's assistance to establish a multiyear program of public expenditure work with the government. It seeks to demonstrate how to improve the quality of the ongoing fiscal adjustment, and increase the efficiency of government expenditure, emphasizing the interconnections between sector policies and budgeting.
Country Financial Accountability Assessment - (Oct. 2004) The Report examines all areas of public sector accountability in Uzbeksitan, including accountability and transparency aspects of the budget, accounting and external financial reporting, revenue management, internal and external audit, and governance of public enterprises.
