Volunteering for the Society

VOLUNTEERS ARE INVITED!

 

Membership in the Society is growing, and we’re looking for volunteers to keep our programs going.   We have jobs to suit everyone.  Whether you just want to help out once in a while, or join one of the committees working on specific issues, or organize a special event, we can use your help and expertise. 

Below is a list of some areas where we need help. Please fill out the attached questionnaire, and return it to the 1818 Society, in person (Room MC 1-852), by e-mail (1society@worldbank.org), by mail (PO Box 27388, Washington, D.C. 20038-7388), or by FAX (202-522-2417).

QUESTIONNAIRE

Yes, I would be willing to help out with the work of The 1818 Society from time to time. Activities which may be of interest to me are (check as many as apply):

 Help out in The 1818 Society office
 Maintain, upgrade Society filing systems
 Help with planning and management of annual events
 Be a member of the Friends-in-Need network which helps members who may need assistance in getting to doctor appointments, etc.
 Assist with writing and/or editing sections of the Newsletter
 Plan and organize a special tour or event.
 Serve on regular and/or special committees.
 Be a point of contact and/or provide assistance to retirees on issues such as
 Immigration, estate planning, RMIP, Medicare, pension.
 Be a resource person for 1818 Society information technology issues
 Help with web-posting
