SDN Forum 2012
SDN Forum 2012 will be held from February 21-March 1,2012. It is organized by Agriculture and Rural Development and the overall focus is on green growth for all . I would specially like to draw the attention of 1818 Society members to the ARD Sector Day programs on February 23, 2012 which is interesting and many members of the Society may like to participate. The plenary session will focus on outlining the ways in which the changing external and internal environments have affected the work of the agriculture and rural development family and the opportunities and challenges presented by the Agricultural Action plan. A number of other sessions planned include, Green Growth and Climate Smart Agriculture, Game Changers in Agriculture, a debate on the role of storage in food security policy, Co- management of natural resources . A side event sponsored by CGIAR Commission on Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change may also be of interest to 1818 members where it plans to discuss and brainstorm practical ideas on how to move forward on the recommendations of the commission . If there is interest we can plan to have luncheon meeting for the members of the Agriculture and rural development chapter. Click here for the complete program. Policy changes on Retiree STC/STTs
