"One Billion Rising" Global Campaign Event: Stop Violence Against Women and Girls

1 Billion Rising for Justice: A global campaign calling for justice, gender equality, and an end to gender violence.

On February 14, the WBG invites you to participate as One Billion Rise for Justice! The One Billion Rising campaign began as a call to action based on the staggering UN statistic that one in three women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than one billion women and girls. The 2014 campaign will build upon energy and momentum from last year's event when people and countries came together to call for an end to violence against women and girls. The focus in 2014 will be the issue of justice for all survivors of gender violence and ending the rampant discrimination and impunity that prevails globally.

Friday, February 14, 2014
Preston Auditorium
12:30 to 2:30, followed by a reception:

  • Kickoff entertainment by Batala DC
