The following project was approved today by the World Bank's Board:
CREDITAMOUNT: IDA-US$18.4 million equivalent
TERMS: Grace period = 10 years; Maturity = 40 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A major component of the government's public sector reform program, this project will assist the government in its effort to demobilize 30,000 soldiers and to promote their successful adaptation to civilian life. It will also contribute to channeling budgetary resources to the social sectors to build human, social and economic assets. Savings achieved from demobilization will help achieve this.
