Benin: Public Expenditure Reform Adjustment Project

The following project was approved today by the World Bank's Board:
CREDIT AMOUNT: IDA-US$10 million equivalent Terms: Grace period=10 years; maturity=40 years PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will improve the impact of government expenditures on poverty reduction, and economic and social development. It will also improve governance by providing a transparent system of budgeting linking budget allocations to program objectives and sector strategies and strengthen the government's administrative capacity to manage public expenditures efficiently.
