Companions on the Progress Road

Video, 1985 • 30 minutes • English • Informational from film 0006$25.95

Just 25 years ago, the world's richer nations created a unique international financial institution: The International Development Association (IDA). Its purpose: to help finance the economic development of the world's poorest nations with fifty year interest-free loans.

This film will take us on a journey through five countries—Mali, Indonesia, Kenya, India and Korea. Filmed entirely on location, Companions on the Progress Road stresses the importance of the people affected by development—a struggle they will lose without assistance from the world's richer nations.
