May 11, 2001 — This week in Washington, Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica’s bid to reform the country’s ailing economy took a big step forward when Yugoslavia rejoined the World Bank. Kostunica, who came to power six months ago, said he would use the money to help rebuild his ravaged country, which is made up of the Republics of Serbia and Montenegro.
