The following project was approved today by the World Bank's Board:
CREDIT AMOUNT: IDA - US$77 million
TERMS: Grace period = 10 years; Maturity = 35 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The credit will support the Government of Bolivia's initiative to rehabilitate parts of the country's major and secondary road networks, and improve road management and maintenance systems. The IDA contribution finances rehabilitation of 353 km of roads, including 165 km between El Alto and Oruro, and 188 km between Boyuibe and Yacuiba, on the road from Santa Cruz to the Argentine border. It will also finance rehabilitation of selected secondary roads in the departments of La Paz, Oruro, Chuquisaca and Tarija.
