The following project was approved today by the World Bank's Board:

CREDIT AMOUNT: IDA-US $30 million equivalent

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Structural Adjustment Credit (SAC) supports a broad range of government initiated reforms including programs to increase revenue, policies to support forestry management, as well as reforms to manage public spending, to enhance governance and to fight corruption, and to make preparatory steps for military demobilization. The structural reform program provided by the SAC will benefit the poor by contributing to improved access of poor households to basic social and economic services such as basic education, health facilities, and piped water.
