Debt Relief For The World's Poorest Countries - Thirteen of the world's poorest countries are now receiving debt relief amounting to some $23 billion over time under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries Initiative (HIPC) and a further 9 countries are in the pipeline. The countries involved are now able to embark on essential social programs to help attack poverty. This report reviews the progress so far with soundbites from Ugandans, Mozambicans and World Bank staff.
