Bosnia-Herzegovina: Second Employment Support Project

WASHINGTON, June 15, 2004—The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board:

CREDIT AMOUNT: US$12 Million

TERMS: Grace period = 10 years; Maturity = 20 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will support Bosnia-Herzegovina’s continued reform agenda by promoting active labor market programs and effective job brokerage services. This project will finance incentives for companies to train and employ the most vulnerable among the unemployed. It would also provide funds for self-employment in agriculture and small businesses, counseling services, small scale public works and other programs to assist active job seekers.
