CREDIT AND GRANT AMOUNT: US$6.5 million
TERMS: Grace period = 10 years; Maturity = 40 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project aims to respond to the challenges created by the April 2004 floods through an emergency assistance program focused on the immediate need for rehabilitation and reconstruction of damaged economic and social infrastructure, as well as long term disaster prevention management. The project comprises four components: urgent rehabilitation of economic and social infrastructure; delivery of basic infrastructure services to the resettlement zone; technical assistance and consultancy services to disaster prevention and management in the short and long-term; and project management and implementation assistance.
