video15s"We think the emerging economies of the region are going to grow by about six percent this year, compared to seven point two percent last year. But we think that that's a good sustainable growth rate because it comes from a balanced expansion in exports, incomes and investment. "
video17s"Europe and Japan have both slowed. Oil prices are much higher and that's knocked off about one percent from the region's growth rate. And the region is accumulating foreign exchange reserves at an unprecedented rate - over $300 billion last year alone."
video22s" Well something needs to be done to manage these reserves better. We think for China the issue is how do they make domestic assets more expensive for foreigners and to reduce the speculative inflows. For other countries more can be done to boost consumption and investment particularly in infrastructure."
video21s"Well women have been partly responsible for the rapid reduction in poverty in the region and because of the contribution of women, households now have stronger financial positions and they are more diversified in terms of their incomes. And that puts them in much better shape to weather any kind of change that might be necessary given changing global conditions."
