High–Level Forum on the Health Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)

Available in: Français

November 14, 2005 — In Paris, developing country and OECD ministers, heads of development agencies, and other senior officials are meeting at the High–Level Forum on the Health MDGs  to agree on steps to help developing countries in their efforts to reach the goals set in 2000.

Coordinated jointly by the Bank and the World Health Organization, the High Level Forum has met twice previously, in Geneva in January, 2004, and Abuja in December 2004.  Results from those previous meetings led to the creation of a health metrics network to improve the flow of health information, improved tracking of resource flows to the health sector, actions to address the crisis in human resources in health, and making PRSPs focus more intensively on health outcomes.
