Q. What is a podcast?

A. A podcast is a technology for delivering audio files to listeners over the Internet, via a "feed". They often take the form of a radio broadcast, and many traditional broadcasters (such as NPR, the BBC, or television channels) have begun to use them as an alternate delivery source.

Q. What do I need to listen to a podcast?

A. Because podcasts are created as standard audio files, they can be played on an everyday computer, as well as on an mp3 player or some cell phones. If you would like to receive the podcasts automatically, you'll need a program that can subscribe and read the feed, such as Juice, or  iTunes.

Q. How do I subscribe?

A. Once you have a podcasting program like those noted above, you can subscribe in two ways. The easiest is to drag the orange and white "Subscribe" button to your podcast receiver's window. Many programs will automatically add a feed this way. You can also copy and past the URL for a program into the podcasting window. For specific details, please check the help file for your software.
