WASHINGTON, October 12, 2006 - The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors: IDA CREDIT: US$2 million TERMS: Grace period = 10 years; Maturity = 40 years PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The main objective of this credit is to carry out the rehabilitation and recovery of the economic and social assets damaged by the April 2004 floods; to improve living conditions in the resettlement zone; to build the capacity for long-term disaster prevention and management; and support employment generation for the low-income population.
