WASHINGTON, May 1, 2007 - The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors: IBRD LOAN: US$100 million TERMS: Maturity = 18 year; Grace Period = 5 years PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project’s main objective is to provide annual budget support and sustain a broad program of reforms in Morocco’s water sector towards more efficient and sustainable water management and service delivery. The program tackles central issues of sector governance and financing while supporting sub-sectoral reforms in resource management, irrigation, and water supply and sanitation. It is guided by principles of integrated water resources management, as well as demand and performance management.
