Vietnam: Mekong Delta Transport Infrastructure Development Project

WASHINGTON, May 22, 2007 - The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

IDA CREDIT: US$207.7 million

TERMS: Grace Period = 10 years; Maturity = 40 years.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The objective of the project is to improve access to markets by businesses, farmers and the poor with lower logistics costs resulting from the alleviation of key physical and institutional bottlenecks of the main transport corridors in the Mekong Delta Region.
