Bangladesh: National Agricultural Technology Project

WASHINGTON, February 7, 2008 - The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA Credit: USD$62.60 million

Terms: Maturity = 40 years; Grace = 10 years

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:   The project aims is to assist the Government of Bangladesh improve agricultural productivity and farm income by revitalizing the national agricultural technology system.  It is designed to enhance the effectiveness of the national agricultural technology system. It will finance activities related to agricultural research, agricultural extension, and supply chain, including strengthening of national institutions involved in agricultural research and extension.
