PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Investing in Children and Youth Project supports the Government of Bolivia’s efforts to: (i) contribute to a reduction in chronic malnutrition in children ages 0-2 years old living in the most vulnerable rural areas of the country; (ii) improve the management and operation of a skills development program for low income youth; and (iii) improve government capacity to design and manage a coherent, and effective social protection network. The project has three components: implementing and scaling up the Social Protection Program for Mothers and Children to combat chronic malnutrition; improving and expanding a skills development program for low income unemployed youth living in urban and peri-urban areas and; strengthening the Social Protection Network (RPS-DIC), to aid the government in achieving the long-term goal of developing a sustainable and integrated social protection system.
